In Dubai, the opening of the international road show “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan 2020” took place. The presentation of the Turkmen oil and gas potential, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the country’s neutrality, was organized by the state-owned concerns Turkmengaz, Turkmenneft, and the state-owned corporation Turkmengeology in partnership with the company Turkmen Forum. The meeting is attended by representatives of more than 100 oil and gas, service and consulting companies from more than 40 countries.
On the first day of the forum, the TAPI – gas pipeline of peace and cooperation conference was held. Opening it, the Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues Yagshigeldy Kakaev emphasized the importance of Ashgabat’s initiatives aimed at creating a global architecture of energy security, combining the efforts of the world community in resolving energy issues relevant to the whole world. He also spoke about the implementation of large-scale oil and gas projects, including the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline, designed to give a powerful impetus to the socio-economic development of Central and South Asia, as well as contribute to strengthening peace and stability in the region.
A video about the achievements of the Turkmen, oil and gas industry and the experience of cooperation with foreign companies was shown to the forum participants.
The conference “TAPI – the gas pipeline of peace and cooperation”, as well as the sessions of the road show “Development of the gas-chemical and oil refining industries of Turkmenistan”, “Industrialization is the main factor in diversifying the economy” and “Development of the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea and attracting investments” aroused great interest of the participants.
A round table was also held within the framework of the forum with the participation of the leadership of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan and representatives of foreign companies, during which the prospects for cooperation in the leading sector of the Turkmen economy were discussed.
